– The State Government Buildings: They have a number of great activities for kids, including the annual North Carolina Day festival. Kids can tour through an old schoolhouse and learn about what life was like in NC during the early 20th century. There are also plenty of exhibits around Raleigh that showcase state history. This is especially fun to do with older children who may be studying US History!

– Pullen Park: If your family loves going on rides at amusement parks but hates standing in long lines all day waiting, then you’ll want to check out Pullen Park. It’s a small park built right next door to the zoo, so it allows families to make a full day out of their visit there! You can go from feeding the ducks to riding the carousel in a few steps.

– The North Carolina Museum of Art: This is one of our favorite family outings around Raleigh NC because it has something for everyone! There are tons of great exhibits on display, and you can walk through the beautiful outdoor park while touring some of their huge sculptures. Kids will also have fun playing at their interactive garden area that includes water features and musical instruments they can play with!

– The Raleigh Times Bar: Great beer, great food, and an awesome atmosphere! What’s not to love? If you like live music while dining out with your family, this is the perfect place for you because they have a weekly open mic night (on Mondays). And if that isn’t enough entertainment for your whole group, then head on down to their basement bar area called “The Underdog” where kids are welcome into the late hours of the evening! It has pool tables and video games galore. We could go here every week without ever getting tired of it. Great time all around!
